One was focused on learning the running mechanics in a continuing education course. The other had very different intentions during the course. We'll let you decide who was who.... We both moved to Birmingham for a sports residency program, Brett being one cohort ahead. Although we connected over PT, it was our love of all things competitive that made for a fun start to the relationship... especially at a time when we were forced to play every board game and card game known to man... thanks covid. Now our favorite date night consists of throwing down with a fun, competitive workout, ending with sushi and a perfectly baked cookie fix cookie. The rest is history.

From what started as a brunch celebration for a dear friend's "birthday", to ending with tons of our favorite people all gathered around a fire by the river making smores, April 15th was a perfect day. We owe a big thank you to our realtor for "setting up a showing" right beside the beautiful overlook view of our favorite city. Also thanks to Godspeed for absolutely smoking our legs in the morning workout and making it too difficult to walk up the dreaded hill (which Shelley initially thought was a good idea), to ensure we were placed perfectly so that the moment could be captured by our photographer and family hidden in the trees. Brett pulled off the surprise of the decade, somehow keeping it from the ultimate planner for months on end. It was a perfect day, filled with lots of laughs, endless happy tears, and many of our favorite people (and pups)! We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you.
